Art Mapping Piemonte is a new project based on the intention of the Piedmont Region and produced with the support of Compagnia di San Paolo to encourage the discovery of contemporary art, away from its conventional locations. The project created by Fondazione Torino Musei and coordinated by Artissima and its director Ilaria Bonacossa calls for the production of three site-specific installations by internationally acclaimed contemporary artists, alongside a mapping of the most important works of public contemporary art in Piedmont, leading to the publication of a guide. The guide, in collaboration with Gambero Rosso, edited for Artissima by Vittoria Martini, will map contemporary works of various kinds whose presence in the territory contributes to make this beautiful region a destination for cultural tourism. Organised by areas, it will present the works together with the municipalities and institutions that host them, while offering suggestions of restaurants not to be missed, and various viewing itineraries to facilitate discovery of art, culture and food at the highest levels of excellence.
