DucatoPrize is a contemporary art award, founded in 2019 with the aim of promoting a dialogue between contemporary art and the territory of the old Duchy of Parma and Piacenza. The award focuses on both national and international artists and is divided into two sections: Contemporary and Academy, in order to provide space for artists who have already embarked on a path in contemporary art, as well as for the experiments of emerging artists. The catalog contributes to promoting the initiative, documenting the 2023 edition of the award, and showcasing the participating artists. In the first part, the volume collects textual contributions from the protagonists of this edition and various insights on the 10 finalists of the exhibition held from September 23 to October 22 at Volumnia, Piacenza. In the second part, the works of 40 artists selected from the submissions received in this fourth edition are presented. The objective is twofold: to provide a summary documentation of the artworks submitted for the award, exploring details, techniques, and materials used, and to serve as a platform for the promotion of the participants through the distribution and presentation of the volume, in national and international channels and institutions.
