GEA CASOLARO. PARTICIPATORY ARTWORK AS AN ANALYSIS OF CURRENT EVENTS

Description

For the recent release of the books Mare Magnum Nostrum. Siamo tutti nella stessa acqua, published by Silvana Editoriale, and Molto visibile, troppo invisibile, published by Vanilla Edizioni, Gea Casolaro will present her latest artistic research, in dialogue with Cecilia Canziani (art historian, critic and independent curator) and Leonardo Regano (art historian, critic and independent curator). Tackling transversal themes applied to her artistic practice, from the social relations, economic and political dynamics that converge in the ancient mare nostrum to the overwhelming force of images – our own and those of others – Gea Casolaro and the participants will delve into the themes addressed by the two books. The first a catalogue of the winning project of the VIII edition of the Italian Council, currently on view at the National Museum of Ravenna. The second is a volume stemming from the exhibition held in 2019, examining the artist’s last three years production.
