Part of Hub India – Classical Radical, a three-part museum show that features contemporary and modern art from the Indian subcontinent, exploring legacy and antiquity in the sociological here and now.

Residues & Resonance is composed of contemporary renaissance composites that both iconize and obliterate the very classicism they reference. The works are rooted in heritage, examining traditional styles, schools, and genres, and going beyond to develop a relationship, a language, a dialogue. One of the highlights of the exhibition is a radical section of neo-miniaturists, who borrow from the evocative stylized and gemlike ornamentation of traditional miniature styles and Wasli paintings. The art of the Himalayan region also offers vivid impressions, thanks to a series of works by the artist Paula Sengupta titled The Plain of Aspiration, a project that speaks of the diaspora of Tibetans who have fled their country, and the attempt to conserve their lifestyle and culture elsewhere, through memory.
