As part of “Geographies of Contemporary Italian Art”— a project dedicated to research, storytelling, and internationalization conceived by the Contemporary Art Observatory and promoted by Intesa Sanpaolo and Il Giornale dell’Arte — an analysis has been launched regarding the paths of the beneficiaries of the 2024 edition of the Italian Council, focusing on the projects that won in Area 3 – “Talent Development,”.  The aim of the study is to observe how public support succeeded in nurturing already-started paths and further developing the national and international networks built by the artists, curators, and researchers who received the funding.

The research traced professional evolution over the two years following the awarding of the grant, examining the venues and institutions that hosted the proposals, the relationships that blossomed, exhibition and work opportunities, and effects on the art market. Building on this mapping, the aim is to create a community of talents, within which new connections and exchanges can arise in the Italian and international cultural system.

The conversation at Artissima presents the first findings of the research through a number of artistic trajectories, seeking to understand how public investment can foster transformations in geographies and strengthen the Italian art system abroad.

Speakers: Maria Adelaide Marchesoni (Osservatorio Arte Contemporanea, Journalist of Arteconomy24 – Il Sole 24 Ore), Antonella Crippa (Intesa Sanpaolo, Art Advisory & Fair Value Coordinator), Andrea Conte, (Andreco, Director of Andreco Studio)
