Presentation of the new edition of the catalogue Obsoleto by Vincenzo Agnetti
Archivio Agnetti, series [dia·foria]
It was February 1968 when Obsoleto launched the series De-narratori published by Vanni Scheiwiller, a moment of great cultural ferment, full of anti-system vibrations and of visions cast towards the future. A perfect time for a book that aimed to subvert the narration deconstructing the linguistic rules, hybridizing them with a poetic and almost pictorial dimension, expanding the literary dimension, pushing it within the boundaries of different disciplines. Fifty years from then this new edition is proposed in a moment when Agnetti’s artistic research is well known and therefor Obsoleto’s literary and artistic values are both more easily understood. This reissue of Obsoleto for the [dia•foria series wants to focus the attention on the artist’s literary research. It wants to be a moment of documentation and study. Obsoleto is an important experiment, a kind of forgery of words and it must be read in its own dimension of writing with the awareness that for Agnetti it has been a reservoir of ideas and a starting point for the art that would be.
Speakers: Germana Agnetti (president Archivio Agnetti, Milano), Marco Meneguzzo (art critic and member of the scientific committee, Archivio Agnetti, Milano) and Daniele Poletti (curator of [dia·foria])
