Artissima announces the winners of five prizes and one fund assigned on the first day of the International Contemporary Art Fair.
illy Present Future Prize
Bekhbaatar Enkhtur is the winner of the 23rd edition of the illy Present Future Prize, supported by illycaffè since 2001 and assigned to the most interesting project in Present Future, the section of Artissima devoted to emerging talents.
The artist is presented by Matèria, Roma.
The prize has been awarded by an international jury composed of Tom Engels, artistic director, Grazer Kunstverein, Graz, Robert Leckie, director, Spike Island, Bristol, Kasia Redzisz, artistic director, KANAL Centre Pompidou, Brussels, Patrizia Sandretto Re Rebaudengo, president, Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo, Torino.
Premio Diana Bracco – Imprenditrici ad arte
Carla Chiarchiaro is the winner of the first edition of Premio Diana Bracco – Imprenditrici ad arte, organized by Fondazione Bracco in collaboration with Fondazione Roberto de Silva e Diana Bracco of Milano, assigned to an emerging Italian or foreign woman gallerist whose entrepreneurial background reflects a strong focus on artistic quality and research.
Carla Chiarchiaro is the gallerist of ADA, Roma.
The prize has been awarded by an international jury composed of Isabella Bortolozzi, founder, Galerie Isabella Bortolozzi, Berlin, Eva Elisa Fabbris, director, Museo Madre, Napoli, Valeria Napoleone, collector, London, Mia Rigo Saitta, collector, Genève.
OGR Award
Lawrence Abu Hamdan and Rebecca Moccia are the winners of the 6th edition of the OGR Award, the prize supported by Fondazione per l’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea CRT grants 5,000 euros each to two artists whose work embodies a special attitude of interaction and confrontation with new technologies.
The artists are presented respectively by mor charpentier Paris, Bogotà and Mazzoleni, London, Torino.
The prize has been awarded by an international jury composed of María Berríos, Head of Curatorial Programmes and Research, MACBA, Barcelona, Samuele Piazza, senior curator, OGR Torino, Torino, Bettina Steinbrügge, director, MUDAM, Luxembourg.
VANNI occhiali #artistroom Prize
Elisa Alberti is the winner of the third edition of the VANNI occhiali #artistroom Prize launched by the brand VANNI occhiali and awarded to the artist whose research can offer an original perspective on reality, acting like a lens to open up an unexpected and surprising horizon.
The artist is presented by Krobath, Vienna.
The prize has been awarded by an international jury composed of Lucia Aspesi, curator, Pirelli HangarBicocca, Milano, Giuseppe Fantasia, journalist, Roma, Annalia Venezia, journalist, Milano.
Ettore e Ines Fico Prize
Francesca Ferreri and Samuel Nnorom win the 14th edition of Ettore e Ines Fico Prize, organized by MEF Museo Ettore Fico of Torino with the purpose of promoting and sustaining the work of young artists through an acquisition. Among the artists taking part in the fair, the winners have been chosen for creative poetics and research conducted on an international level.
The artists are represented by Peola Simondi, Torino and Primo Marella, Milano, Lugano.
The prize has been awarded by a jury composed of Renato Alpegiani, collector, Torino, Andrea Busto, director, MEF Museo Ettore Fico, Torino.
IDENTITY Fund for New Entries
Eugenia Delfini, Roma, HOA, Sao Paulo, Reservoir, Cape Town are the winners of the first edition of the IDENTITY Fund for New Entries, a fund directly administered by the fair to provide economic support for the participation of three galleries in the 2023 edition, within the New Entries section.
The galleries have been chosen by a jury composed of four previous artistic directors of the fair – Andrea Bellini, director, Centre d’Art Contemporain, Geneva, Francesco Manacorda, freelance curator, London, Sarah Cosulich, director of Pinacoteca Agnelli, Torino, Ilaria Bonacossa, director of Museo Nazionale dell’Arte Digitale – MNAD, Milano.
