Artissima welcome Il respiro della luce to its cultural programme. Presented by the Archivio Oscar Piattella under the patronage of Città di Torino, this new initiative seeks to rediscover and celebrate a cultural asset that has long lacked its rightful place on the city’s cultural map.
Under the patronage of the City, and in collaboration with the Department of Culture, the Accademia Albertina di Belle Arti di Torino, the Pinacoteca Albertina and the Abbonamento Torino Musei network, the Archivio Oscar Piattella opens the doors of the Sanctuary of Nostra Signora della Salute. The project showcases Oscar Piattella’s monumental glass apse, which stands 17 metres high and comprises 13,000 hand-blown glass tesserae. Created in 1992, the permanent artwork is reinterpreted through backlighting and a site-specific intervention combining a soundscape and contemporary dance. Launching during Artissima, the project will continue over the next two years.
