MADE IN is a residency programme created by Artissima with the support of Camera di commercio di Torino, based on the desire to activate a dialogue between contemporary art and the flourishing entrepreneurial context of Torino, enhancing the territory in which the fair was born and has grown, constantly weaving synergic relationships with the aim of underscoring characteristic values, giving Torino greater visibility in the world.
With the aim of highlighting new forms of artistic expression and encouraging the dissemination of ideas capable of stimulating the economic and productive ecosystem of the area that is the “cradle” of Artissima, MADE IN is based on the idea that corporate know-how and specialised production processes can become a precious resource for the creation of works of art. The four young artists selected will have the opportunity to get to know and work in four companies in the territory, absorbing and incorporating the technological and operative expertise with which they will come into contact into their own practice, with the aim of producing an original artwork that will be presented at Artissima.
The first edition, launched in 2022 and realised in 2023, saw the participation of the following artists and companies: Mara Callegaro for Carioca (with patron gallery Norma Mangione); Daniele Di Girolamo for Pattern Group (with patron gallery Franco Noero); Andrea Di Lorenzo for Prima Industrie (with patron gallery Peola Simondi); Nicola Ghirardelli for Mattioli (with patron gallery Mazzoleni).
