Talk

For over a decade, Prospettive. The Economy of Images has brought the economic and geopolitical research of Tosetti Value – Il Family office into dialogue with the perspectives of artists and photographers, grounded in the belief that images do more than depict the present: they help us understand its transformations. Over the years, this dual perspective has offered insights into globalisation, industry, energy, shifting geopolitical balances, migration and social change.
Today, the very way we come to know the world is changing. We inhabit physical and digital landscapes in which algorithms increasingly shape what we see, while artificial intelligence generates new forms of representation, transforming the relationship between reality, images, memory and trust.
Taking Paesaggi Cancellati by Alterazioni Video, winner of the 2025 Tosetti Value Photography Award, as its starting point, the talk examines this new economy of the visible: how does our ability to understand reality change as the tools through which we observe it evolve? What value does an image hold when it is no longer necessarily a trace of something that once existed? And what new criteria do we use to establish trust in what we see?
From art to ethics, from artificial intelligence to new ways of knowing, the talk explores the cultural and technological transformations that are redefining how we interpret reality, make decisions and shape our future.

Speakers: Alterazioni video (Art Collective), Roberta Tenconi (Chief Curator, Pirelli HangarBicocca, Milano)
