What happens when citizens are the ones asked to conceive and imagine an artwork or an artistic process, projecting it into the future so that it expresses Turin in 2033? This was the question that inspired L’Europa è di Casa, an artistic co-design process promoted by Rete delle Case del Quartiere di Torino and Fondazione per la Cultura as part of Turin’s bid to become European Capital of Culture in 2033 in collaboration with Accademia Albertina di Belle Arti and BJCEM (Biennale des Jeunes Créateurs d’Europe et de la Méditerranée).

Eight parallel processes took place in the spring and summer of 2026 across Turin’s neighborhood community centers, involving citizens as both commissioners and creators. An equal number of Italian and international artists accompanied them, translating eight large-scale artistic projects into an aesthetic and poetic language. “L’Europa è di Casa” expresses a vision of the European Capital of Culture conceived as a collective, intergenerational, and widespread process that harnesses the energy of an entire city, from the grassroots up, toward its own vision of the future. Through art, the project also explores the Europe already present in the interstices of daily life, in the relationships between people, and in the present reality of places. This event is a multi-voiced account of that process.

Speakers:  Agostino Riitano (Director of the Candidacy of Turin for European Capital of Culture 2033), Kitti Baracsi (Researcher, critical educator), Irene Pittatore (Visual artist, performer), Citizens’presentatives (to be defined), Vittoria Lombardi (Coordinator of the “L’Europa è di Casa” project for Rete Delle Case Del Quartiere Di Torino)
