Oelle – Mediterraneo Antico Prize

Fondazione Oelle promotes for the fifth year the Oelle – Mediterraneo Antico Prize, for which an international jury selects one artist represented by galleries in the fair. The artist will take part in a residency in Sicily, aimed at producing a project that explores the intersections between languages and contemporary cultures of the Mediterranean. At the end of the residency, the project will be showcased in one of the Foundation’s exhibition venues. This experiential format, dedicated to the “navigating artists” of the third millennium, is designed to enhance contemporary artistic research, with particular attention to the artists from the Global South. The areas involved encompass visual arts, photography, video, sound art, and other artistic forms such as literature. Conceived as a journey of cultural crossing, the project positions Sicily and the Mediterranean as spaces for dialogue and creative exchange.
