Acquisitions Fund by Fondazione Arte CRT

Artissima promotes an acquisition fund with the support of Fondazione Arte CRT.

Fondazione Arte CRT confirms its Acquisition Fund in support of the collections of GAM – Galleria Civica d’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea di Torino and Castello di Rivoli Museo d’Arte Contemporanea, reaching a total of 300,000 euros. Continuing its advisory role to the Foundation on acquisitions, the Scientific Committee of the Foundation takes part in selecting works for acquisition at the fair, working closely with the Directors and Head Curators of Castello di Rivoli Museo d’Arte Contemporanea and GAM – Galleria Civica d’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea. Together, they select works that further enrich the collections of both museums, centers of excellence in Piedmont that key a key role in bringing art to a broad and diverse audience at local, national and international levels.

For over twenty-five years, Fondazione Arte CRT, the art-focused branch of Fondazione CRT, has been a longstanding partner of the Artissima international fair, supporting it through concrete initiatives focused in particular on an extensive program of acquisitions, in the belief that the fair represents an extraordinary opportunity for the city of Torino to strengthen and consolidate its role on the international art scene.

Over the years, including through acquisitions made at Artissima, the Foundation has built a remarkable collection of contemporary art, which is now among the most prestigious in Italy and internationally: almost 1,000 works, ranging from painting and sculpture to video, photography, large-scale installations and NFTs, created by around 380 artists, representing a total investment of over 43 million euros.

In 2025 26 new works have been acquired at Artissima: John Giorno (Thomas Brambilla, Bergamo, Eva Presenhuber, Zurich), Cian Dayrit (Nome, Berlin), Majd Abdel Hamid (P420, Bologna), John Menick (MATTA, Milano), Felix Shumba (Fonti, Napoli) and Valentina Furian (UNA, Piacenza, Milano) for the permanent collection of Castello di Rivoli Museo d’Arte Contemporanea; David Schutter (Magazzino, Roma), Simon Callery (1/9Unosunove, Roma), Alessandro Pessoli (P420, Bologna), Marco Cingolani (Thomas Brambilla, Bergamo) and Franciszka and Stefan Themerson (Import Export, Warsaw, London) for the halls of GAM – Galleria Civica d’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea di Torino.
