Artissima 2018

As Italy’s leading contemporary art fair, Artissima stands out for its innovative, experimental approach, making it one of the most charismatic events on the international art calendar: a must for art professionals and art lovers who want to know more about the latest artistic and curatorial practices. In 2018 Artissima celebrates its 25th anniversary and includes many new features, such as a new curated section, Sound dedicated to contemporary sonic research and set up outside the institutional spaces of Artissima, at the OGR – Officine Grandi Riparazioni of Torino, which joins the established Back to the Future, Present Future and Disegni areas, coordinated by international boards of curators and directors:

Back to the Future, the great pioneers of contemporary art, is curated by Anna Daneri (coordinator), independent curator, Genova, Milano, Cristiano Raimondi, director for development and international projects, Nouveau Musée National de Monaco, Gabriela Rangel, director for visual arts and head curator, Americas Society, New York amd Pietro Rigolo, special collections archivist, The Getty Research Institute, Los Angeles.

Present Future, focussed on emerging talents, is curated by Cloé Perrone (coordnator), independent curator, Roma, New York, Myriam Ben Salah, independent curator and writer, Paris and Juan Canela, independent curator and writer, Barcelona.

Disegni, entirely devoted to this artistic practice, is curated by Luís Silva and João Mourão, co-directors Kunsthalle Lissabon, Lisbon.

There will also be established galleries (Main Section), young galleries that have opened over the last 5 years (New Entries), projects that interface 2 or 3 artists (Dialogue), and a section on contemporary art publications (Art Spaces & Editions).
